In the heart of downtown Kearney is the repository for all the rich and fascinating history of this city.

Housed in a building from 1870, the Kearney Historic Museum tells the story of Kearneys unique past through exhibits, displays, and collections. They preserve important artifacts related to the citys history for future generations. The museum hosts school field trips, group tours, special events, and more each year. Open every Friday & Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Admission is free but donations are appreciated! Come explore, enjoy, and see the impact that the railroad and agriculture had on Kearney! Volunteers are needed.

Write A Letter to Santa:

• The Kearney Historic Museum is hosting a FREE "Letter to Santa" event in conjunction with Kearney's Magical Night.
• The special mailbox that is a direct link to the North Pole and Santa will be available December 1st, 2nd, 8th, and 9th from 10am-2pm at the museum to post/send/mail your own letter.
• Also on December 9th, from 7pm to 9pm, there will be helpers and all supplies needed at the museum to assist you with writing your wish list/letter.
• Santa has promised to reply to all letters with a return address sent via this special mailbox! While you are at the museum dropping off or writing a letter, be sure to peek at the two specially decorated Christmas trees!
