Business DescriptionIn the heart of downtown Kearney is the repository for all the rich and fascinating history of this city. Housed in a building from 1870, the Kearney Historic Museum tells the story of Kearneys unique past through exhibits, displays, and collections. They preserve important artifacts related to the citys history for future generations. The museum hosts school field trips, group tours, special events, and more each year. Open every Friday & Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Admission is free but donations are appreciated! Come explore, enjoy, and see the impact that the railroad and agriculture had on Kearney! 1920 Exhibit: Kearney Historic Museum will have a variety of displays to enjoy from May 10th-June 21st, 2024, that will take you back to the 1920s which was a transformative decade for our community. Displays will touch on subjects ranging from prohibition to political changes, modern ideals and mass entertainment, plus how cars, radio, and telephones impacted these changes. Join us for an Open House on May 11th, there will be volunteers there to answer any questions you may have, and After Hours on June 20. |
