Rebuilding Together understands the importance of a safe and healthy home for everyone. The ability to remain in the home is often determined by the health and accessibility of the home. Our program, Safe at Home, provides safety modifications for homeowners who want to improve accessibility, reduce falls, and increase independence in the home. Safe at Home is a program of Rebuilding Together Kansas Inc., a renowned nonprofit organization that has modified thousands of homes across the nation. Here are our opportunities for volunteering:

Rebuilding Dayis our annual one-day rebuilding blitz when hundreds of volunteers make essential repairs for low-income families. This event occurs on the3rd Saturday in September. You need to attend the House Selection Meeting (when volunteer crew leaders select the house they will transform on Rebuilding Day) which usually takes place on thesecond Thursday in July.Read More.

Safe at Homeis our year-round program that provides home safety modifications for seniors, people with disabilities, and veterans. Our Safe at Home Project Managers and Volunteers are trained to do the jobs assigned. They work together to create safer and more accessible homes by installing: grab bars, handrails, bathroom assistive devices, wheelchair ramps, accessible showers, and more.
